Welcome to the Arizona Dept. of Gaming/Division of Problem Gambling’s Training.
Problem Gambling 101 is an introduction to problem gambling and is covered in the Core Training.
The Core Training is designed for Licensed Professional Counselors and other Master’s-level clinicians or Certified Addiction Professionals and Bachelor’s level clinicians working to aid problem gamblers. This training occurs in Two Phases:
- PHASE I: Basic Knowledge & Understanding (30-Hours)
- PHASE II: Application and Professional Competency (30-Hours)
Completion of both phases makes you eligible to pursue the International Certification in Gambling Counseling (ICGC-I & -II). Completion of PHASE I – (or another approved equivalent) is required for anyone contracting with DPG to provide Problem Gambling Treatment.

This training is outlines the ways gambling constitutes a public health issue and how the signs of gambling addiction present themselves.
